The goal of opening a branch of the counseling center OZ ŽENA V TIESNI is to increase the availability of help for women experiencing violence in the Liptovský region. More than 14,487 women live in Ružomberok. According to calculations based on research, roughly 2,900 women experience violence from their partner or husband in Ružomberok. In 2021, we recorded 9% of new clients from Ružomberok in our counseling office.

Counseling center in Ružomberok will provide a full range of support and protection, e.g. information, advice, practical help, accompanying to courts, legal assistance, social and psychological advice. Comprehensive specialized counseling in the counseling center in Ružomberok will be provided on an outpatient basis, by telephone and online. The services provided will be free, anonymous and confidential.

The partner of the project is a civil association MyMamy https://www.mymamy.sk/kontakt/, which will provide counseling in the Prešov Region as part of the Safe Way from Violence project.

The project is supported within the Domestic and Gender-Based Violence program co-financed by the Norway grants and the Slovak state budget.
